Single PDF Analysis

How to process a single PDF eBook and create a WooCommerce product draft.

Overview

The Single PDF tab is designed for processing one eBook at a time. This is the ideal workflow when you want to immediately review the AI's suggestions and create a product draft.

To begin, navigate to WooCommerce > eBook Assistant and ensure the Single PDF tab is selected.

Step 1: Upload and Analyze

  1. Select a PDF file: Click the file input to choose a PDF from your computer. The file must contain selectable text (scanned images without OCR are not supported).
  2. Sample pages (Optional): Enter comma-separated page numbers (e.g., 3, 12, 45) that you want the plugin to extract as gallery images. Page 1 is always extracted automatically as the cover image.
  3. Targeting / context notes (Optional): Provide specific instructions to the AI. For example, "Focus the description on beginners," or "This is part of the Summer Collection."
  4. Click Generate Product Draft.

The plugin will extract the text locally, summarize it, and send the summary to your configured AI provider.

The time required depends on the size of the PDF and the response time of the AI provider. You will see progress indicators as the extraction and analysis stages complete.

Step 2: Review AI Suggestions

Once analysis is complete, the interface will expand to show several sections detailing the AI's findings:

  • PDF extraction: Shows how many characters were extracted and if the text was truncated to meet your configured limits.
  • Summary: A brief overview of the eBook's content generated by the AI.
  • Store pricing: Statistical data (min, max, average, median) based on the context of your existing WooCommerce products.
  • Similar products: Existing products in your store that the AI identified as similar to the uploaded eBook.
  • Price suggestion: The AI's recommended price, accompanied by its reasoning based on similar products and store context.
  • Category suggestions: Recommended categories for the new product, mapped to your existing store categories.

Step 3: Edit and Create Draft

Below the analysis results, you will find the Review and create product form. This form is pre-populated with the AI's generated draft content.

  1. Review and edit the Title, Short description, and Long description.
  2. Adjust the Regular price if needed.
  3. Select or deselect Categories (the AI's suggestions are pre-checked).
  4. Review the comma-separated Tags. Only tags that already exist in your store will be applied.
  5. Downloadable Options:
    • Check Attach PDF as downloadable file to automatically attach the uploaded PDF to the WooCommerce product.
    • Check Make product downloadable to mark the product as downloadable in WooCommerce.
  6. Click Create WooCommerce Draft.

If your server does not support the required image processing libraries (Imagick or Ghostscript), the plugin will display a notice that cover and gallery images cannot be generated. You will need to add product images manually in WooCommerce after creating the draft.

Step 4: Finalize in WooCommerce

After the draft is created, a success message will appear with a link to Edit product. Click this link to open the standard WooCommerce product editor, where you can:

  • Review the final layout.
  • Upload or adjust product images (if not generated automatically).
  • Configure inventory, variations, or advanced product settings.
  • Publish the product to your live store.
